Phytochemical composition and toxicity study of the aqueous extract of the leaves of Vernonia colorata (Willd.) Drake in Wistar rats

The aim of the work is to study phytochemical composition and acute subacute toxicities aqueous extract leaves Vernonia colorata (AEVC). toxicity was performed by administering a single oral dose AEVC 5000 mg/kg body weight (bw) female Wistar rats. For study, treatments were administered orally for 28 consecutive days. control group received distilled water (10 bw). test groups doses 100, 500 1000 bw respectively satellite (satellite control) at maximum (satellite).
